Storyvoxel worked with the Saint Louis Art Museum to create an immersive, in‑gallery experience for its expanded ancient Egyptian collection. Using the Inside Explorer platform, visitors can explore three mummies on display through interactive 3D visualisation, integrated directly into the museum’s newly opened gallery.
Authentic data, made explorable
Built on high‑resolution CT scans, the installation allows visitors to explore the mummies layer by layer, revealing internal structures and details of the mummification process that are normally hidden from view. Grounded entirely in real scientific data, the experience combines authenticity with intuitive interaction—making complex archaeological knowledge accessible without simplifying it.
