National Museum Of Science And Technology, Stockholm
Making Complex Medical Science Accessible Through Interactive Visualization
Inside Explorer has been used in multiple exhibitions at the National Museum of Science and Technology, Sweden’s largest museum of technology, reaching a wide public audience through both permanent and traveling exhibitions.
In 100 Innovations—the largest exhibition ever produced by the museum—Inside Explorer showcases medical imaging technology, ranked by the Swedish public as one of the most important innovations in history. The interactive table is a popular feature and is regularly highlighted in the museum’s public programming, enabling visitors to intuitively explore complex medical data.
Inside Explorer is also a central component of Sjukt Smart – Innovations in the Fight Against Corona, a traveling exhibition developed during the pandemic for students in grades 3–9. Presented on a portable touch table, the Corona Exhibition allows students to explore the virus from both micro and macro perspectives—examining viral structure, disease progression in the lungs, and the global spread of Covid‑19. As part of the museum’s Maker Tour initiative, the exhibition reaches schools and communities that do not usually visit the museum.
